NRA has made the claim that it wants to seriously help fix the the gun violence, but congress isn't willing to listen to them. Many believe that they are not serious, as do I. Don't tell this to anyone else; the NRA doesn't believe it either.
We should let the NRA have total control of the solutions, and implement all of them, with one caveat; after one year, if we haven't seen at least a ten-percent improvement, a strict assault rifles ban will be instituted. Of course most think this solution would not work, and this would mean another year of record deaths. Don't tell anyone else this; the NRA doesn't believe this will work either.
If the latter is true, and I believe it is, the NRA will refuse the offer of total control outright! To listen to the reasons why the NRA wouldn't want complete control would be a very amusing exercise. It would also put them in the awkward position of losing the phony gripe against congress acting. America could then get on with the serious task of a meaningful reduction in gun violence.
