First, lets recognize, raising the debt ceiling is to allow the checks to go out for money, they, congress already spent for purchases or products, not any new expenditures. We should examine how our country got to this point, why it is being done, and the profound troubling mindset of a Republican party gone mad.

American voters left the Republicans with less influence. This result was a reflection of the American majority's view of how Republicans conducted themselves over the prior two-years. The GOP is having a difficult time dealing with this impotence.  Some of them view the debt ceiling issue as their only leverage. Leverage that is powerful enough to extort things from the Democrats.

The view on debt ceiling leverage is their profound madness.  Why; because it makes absurd assumptions. These Republicans believe that raising the debt ceiling, paying our bills, is a Democrat position not a national obligation of the American people.  That is bizarre in and of itself, but it gets much worse. The leverage, extortion, is based on the premise; we Republicans are willing to wreck the United States credit rating and destroy the economy.  We Republicans know that the Democrats are not willing to be that crazy because they really do care about the people.  The conclusion for all to see; Republican power is the most important thing in the world, not caring for the country and its citizens.  Next time you here Republicans claim that they are acting to get America's future fiscal house in order, ask them this; How can that be true when your party is on record as willing to destroy it overnight?
